Ruff & Tuff Electric Vehicles (RTEV) is an innovation-driven manufacturer of battery-powered Electric Vehicles (EV) for personal use by individuals and sportsmen; and commercial use by industrial and agricultural customers. Not to be confused with golf cars, despite their first-glance similarity, Ruff & Tuff brand Cruiser, Hunter, Workman and Golf vehicle models use state-of-the-art technology, are environmentally friendly, and are engineered with a higher-power motor that reaches speeds up to 25 mph, and have enough torque for half-ton payloads.

Our independent suspension and high-tech integrated components combine to achieve market leadership and competitive performance superiority. These are vehicles that with state required safety equipment add-ons meet the federal standards to be classified as Low Speed vehicles (LSVs). This includes standard equipment such as brake lights, seatbelts, turn signal and flasher, rear view mirror and Steer-Loc™ steering wheel.

Based in Winnsboro (SC), Ruff & Tuff is guided by an experienced management team which transformed the company from a golf car aftermarket accessory manufacturer to a full-line Electric Vehicle company.

A growing distributor network of authorized dealers will double in number by the end of 2007. These dealers, and their customers, benefit from a Ruff & Tuff relationship with GE Commercial Finance to provide floor-planning and convenient vehicle purchase financing.

Ruff & Tuff vehicles offer a highly competitive value proposition with manufacturers suggested retail pricing that is just slightly more than inferior-performing rebuilt and accessorized used golf cars and far less than other new competitive Low Speed Vehicles (LSV).

The company is an environmentally-conscious manufacturer of electric vehicles, using advanced technology components and power sources to minimize impact on the environment:

Our AGM Dry Cell Battery is the first “green battery” to offer a clean and environment-friendly alternative to hazardous lead acid batteries; offered in a choice of 30, 50 or 70 mile performance, on only one charge, and no minimum run-time before recharging.

Our Onboard-Mounted Charger is the highest technology charger available, programmable for all battery types, with safety and environment-friendly features, such as over/undercharge controls, lightweight waterproof construction and “go anywhere” re-charging convenience.

2007 Vehicle Models
Ruff & Tuff management has been consistently attuned to every facet of the changing marketplace, and is continuously responding with new vehicles and options to satisfy a diverse and growing ownership population for Electric Vehicles, including leisure owners, outdoorsmen, commercial users and golfers. All of our vehicles come with a two year bumper to bumper warranty.

The Cruiser is the standard road-ready vehicle featuring a 48-volt system with 14-hp motor available in 2 & 4 passenger models in six colors, and with any of more than 20 Bolt-On Options.

The Hunter is available in 2 & 4 passenger models and three different camouflage bodies, with a standard gun rack.

The Workman is the utility grade Ruff & Tuff starting at $7,995. Targeting the industrial and light agriculture segments, the Workman is a two-passenger vehicle, with a large cargo bed, available in two colors and variety of options.

The Golf Car is targeting non-fleet golfer-owners who prefer paying for a new high performance vehicle with a full 2-year warranty versus what golf cart dealers generally sell ─ a used 2-year-old golf cart car with just a 30-day warranty.

Bolt-On Options
The company’s many Bolt-On Option Accessories include a “2N1” convertible seat, roof rack, utility basket and box, power winch, trailer hitch and others. As the Ruff & Tuff distribution network expands for new vehicle sales, accessories and parts sales will steadily shift toward OEM-options and owner-replacement inventory.
The Low Speed Vehicle (LSV) Option Package is available on all Ruff & Tuff models. It includes a one-piece automotive grade windshield, wiper and NHTSA 17-digit VIN, which qualifies to be street legal on 35 mph speed limit roadways.

Aftermarket Accessories
Aftermarket accessories are available for direct sales to all forms of golf car aftermarket dealers and repair shops. This selection of Ruff & Tuff brand products ─ popular upgrades and repairs for vehicles made by E-Z-GO, Club Car and Yamaha Golf ─ includes replacement lighting and seat kits. The company has established itself as a leader in this segment by successfully promoting a “Dare to Compare” proposition on price and quality.
